Authorities in Begusarai’s Bakhri block have uncovered a fake Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) certificate, over a decade old, used to secure a teaching post under another candidate’s roll number, resulting in two FIRs.
The education administration in Bakhri block of Begusarai district, Bihar, has flagged a fraudulent Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) certificate that is eleven years old. The spurious document was allegedly used to obtain a teaching appointment by assuming the roll number of another aspirant.
Investigators traced the fake certificate to a recruitment file where the applicant’s name matched a different candidate’s TET roll number. The mismatch was discovered during routine verification of qualifications for a teaching vacancy.
Police have registered two First Information Reports (FIRs) against the individuals involved, charging them with falsification of documents and cheating in a government recruitment process. The case is being pursued under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.
The district education department has warned that all pending appointments will undergo fresh verification to prevent similar irregularities, emphasizing strict compliance with eligibility norms.
