The Karnataka High Court issued an interim injunction to curb the spread of unverified sting videos targeting former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.

The Karnataka High Court in Bangalore has granted an interim injunction to former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, blocking the circulation of unverified sting operation videos that have been shared on social media with the intent to defame him.

The petition, filed by Siddaramaiah, alleged that the videos were fabricated and baseless, and that their distribution was aimed at tarnishing his reputation.

The court’s order prohibits the posting, sharing, or dissemination of the videos across all social media platforms until further notice, and it also directs the removal of any existing copies.

The decision comes amid growing concerns over the use of doctored content to influence public opinion, and it underscores the judiciary’s role in safeguarding the integrity of public figures.

Siddaramaiah’s legal team welcomed the ruling, stating that it would help protect him from further reputational damage while the case proceeds.
