In winter, Ayurvedic practitioners recommend drinking a Guduchi (Amritaballi) leaf decoction twice weekly to strengthen immunity against viral fevers and colds.

Ayurvedic doctors have advised that consuming a decoction made from Guduchi (Amritaballi) leaves twice a week can help prevent viral fevers and colds that are common during winter weather changes.

Guduchi, a plant long used in traditional Indian medicine, is reputed for its immune-boosting properties. The decoction is prepared by boiling the leaves in water until the liquid reduces, then drinking the cooled brew.

The advice comes as winter weather changes are linked to a higher incidence of viral infections. Strengthening the body’s natural defenses is said to reduce the likelihood of catching a cold or fever.

Ramabana, an Ayurvedic doctor, recommends that individuals drink the decoction once in the morning and once in the evening, ensuring a steady intake of the herb’s beneficial compounds.
