An Assamese shopkeeper and two companions were assaulted in Bengaluru after a disagreement over spicy noodles, according to police reports.

Police said an altercation erupted at a shop in Bengaluru's Jayanagar area when a customer complained about the spiciness of noodles. The dispute escalated and the shopkeeper, identified as an Assamese trader, along with two other individuals, were physically assaulted by a group of unknown assailants.

Local police arrived at the scene, provided medical assistance to the victims and detained several suspects for questioning. An FIR has been lodged under sections relating to assault and public disturbance, and investigators are reviewing CCTV footage to identify the perpetrators.

The incident has raised concerns about consumer‑vendor conflicts and safety in city markets.
