The son of Assistant Sub-Inspector Iqbal in Amritsar publicly asserted that his father had no links to criminal gangs.
Assistant Sub-Inspector Iqbal, a police officer posted in Amritsar, has been the subject of rumours suggesting ties with local criminal groups. In response, his son stepped forward to address the speculation, stating unequivocally that his father was never associated with any gang activity.
The son made the claim during a brief interaction with local media, emphasizing that his father’s service record shows no evidence of collusion with organized crime. He added that the allegations have caused distress to the family and urged the public to rely on verified information.
Police officials have not issued an official statement on the matter, and investigations, if any, remain pending. The clarification comes as part of a broader effort to dispel misinformation surrounding law‑enforcement personnel in the region.
