Ashwini Vaishnaw Launches Chhapra-Anand Vihar Train, Promises 200 New Trains for Bihar

Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw flagged off the new Chhapra to Anand Vihar service, marking a milestone for Bihar's connectivity and announcing plans for 200 additional trains over the next 7-8 years.
The flagging off took place at Chhapra station, where Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw inaugurated the Chhapra‑Anand Vihar Express.
The new service will run daily, covering the roughly 400‑km stretch between Bihar and Delhi, thereby enhancing passenger and freight connectivity.
During the ceremony Vaishnaw also revealed that the Ministry intends to add 200 new trains to Bihar’s network within the next 7‑8 years, a move aimed at boosting travel options and economic prospects.
The launch is part of the government’s broader rail development strategy and is expected to cut travel time and improve overall service quality for commuters.
