Arunachal Pradesh minister Wangsu urged that the Northeast region should develop its own agricultural technology solutions instead of adopting imported models.
Arunachal Pradesh’s Minister Wangsu, speaking at a press briefing, emphasized the need for the Northeast to create its own agri‑tech solutions rather than relying on imported models.
He highlighted that the region’s unique geography, climate and crop patterns make generic technologies unsuitable.
Wangsu called for increased investment in local research, development and innovation hubs to tailor technology to the Northeast’s specific agricultural challenges.
The minister also urged state and central governments to support indigenous startups and research institutions in developing context‑appropriate solutions.
"Our farmers deserve technology that works for them, not a one‑size‑fits‑all model," Wangsu said.
