The Arunachal Congress has lodged a formal objection to the United Nations' latest map that shows the state, calling the depiction inaccurate and demanding correction.
The Arunachal Congress submitted a protest to the United Nations over a recently released map that it says misrepresents Arunachal Pradesh. The party described the depiction as "inaccurate" and urged the UN to amend the cartographic error.
The contested map appears in UN publications that are used for international reference, and the party argues that such representation undermines India's territorial integrity.
A spokesperson for the Arunachal Congress said the state has always been an integral part of the Indian Union and that any portrayal suggesting otherwise is unacceptable. The party called for an immediate correction and for the UN to respect India's sovereign borders.
