The APSRTC Joint Action Committee has rejected the corporation’s plan to outsource conductors and is demanding regular recruitment to fill 15,000 vacancies.
The Joint Action Committee (JAC) of the Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) has publicly opposed the corporation’s proposal to outsource its conductors. The union argues that outsourcing would undermine job security and service quality for the state’s extensive bus network.
JAC officials highlighted that APSRTC currently has around 15,000 vacant conductor posts across its fleet. They contend that these positions should be filled through regular, direct recruitment rather than through contractual arrangements.
The dispute comes as the corporation seeks to streamline operations and cut costs. APSRTC has not yet issued a formal response, but sources indicate that discussions between the management and the JAC are expected to continue in the coming weeks to resolve the staffing impasse.
