Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has appealed to the central government for backing a new shipbuilding centre at Dugarajapatnam.
The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, N. Chandrababu Naidu, has formally requested the central government to support the establishment of a shipbuilding centre at Dugarajapatnam, a coastal town in the state.
The proposed facility is expected to boost the state’s maritime industry by providing advanced shipbuilding and repair capabilities, thereby creating employment opportunities and strengthening the local economy.
Naidu’s appeal comes as part of a broader effort to attract investment in infrastructure projects that can enhance Andhra Pradesh’s position as a key player in India’s maritime sector.
The state government is awaiting a response from the Ministry of Shipping and is preparing the necessary documentation to secure central funding and technical assistance.
