Congress leader Annamalai criticised the BJP-led central government, saying that even after twelve years in office it continues to create artificial enemies.
Senior Congress figure Annamalai delivered a sharp rebuke to the BJP-led Union government, asserting that the ruling coalition, despite a dozen years at the helm, still resorts to fabricating adversaries to sustain its narrative.
Speaking at a press interaction, he highlighted that the government's repeated attempts to portray opposition parties and dissenting voices as threats undermine democratic discourse. Annamalai warned that such tactics erode public trust and distract from pressing governance issues.
He urged the central leadership to focus on policy delivery rather than political theatrics, calling for a constructive engagement with all stakeholders for the country's development.
The remarks come amid growing political tension ahead of upcoming state elections, where opposition parties are gearing up to challenge the BJP's dominance at the centre.
No official response from the Union government has been recorded at the time of this report.
