Andre Timmins confirmed that the International Indian Film Academy Awards will be held in Abu Dhabi in 2027, with Bollywood stars Salman Khan and Himesh Reshammiya attending the announcement.

Abu Dhabi hosted a press briefing where IIFA founder Andre Timmins disclosed that the International Indian Film Academy Awards will move to the United Arab Emirates for its 2027 edition. The decision marks the first time the prestigious Bollywood awards ceremony will be staged in the Gulf capital.

The announcement was attended by leading Bollywood personalities Salman Khan and music composer Himesh Reshammiya, who were on a promotional visit to the region. Both stars remained on record only to acknowledge the IIFA’s expansion plans and expressed optimism about the event’s potential to showcase Indian cinema on a new international stage.

Industry observers note that IIFA’s shift to Abu Dhabi aligns with the award’s tradition of rotating venues across major global cities, aiming to strengthen cultural ties and attract tourism. Timmins indicated that the 2027 edition will feature a larger lineup of performances and collaborations, though specific details of the program were not disclosed at the briefing.
