Amit Shah to Convene Odisha, Chhattisgarh CM Meeting on Mahanadi Dispute

Prime Minister Amit Shah has announced that he will convene a meeting between the chief ministers of Odisha and Chhattisgarh to address the Mahanadi river water dispute. The gathering is aimed at finding a mutually acceptable solution to the long‑standing disagreement over water sharing from the river that flows through both states. The meeting will be held at a neutral venue and is expected to involve senior officials from the central and state governments. The Mahanadi dispute has been a source of tension between the two states for years, affecting agriculture, industry and domestic water supply. By bringing the leaders together, the central government hopes to facilitate a dialogue that leads to a sustainable resolution.
