Amit Shah to Attend Bhopal Goat‑herders Meet, Unveil ₹255 cr Dairy Plant and Other Livestock Projects

Union Home and Co‑operation Minister Amit Shah will join the state‑level Gopalak conference in Bhopal on Oct 3, where a ₹255 crore dairy plant in Ujjain and several other dairy, livestock and road‑linked schemes will be announced.
Bhopal will host a state‑level Gopalak (goat herders) conference on 3 October, drawing an estimated 35,000 goat rearers from across Madhya Pradesh. Union Home and Co‑operation Minister Amit Shah is slated to address the gathering, underscoring the central government's focus on the livestock sector.
During the event, the state government will unveil a new dairy processing plant in Ujjain valued at ₹255 crore. The facility is expected to boost milk procurement, create processing capacity, and generate employment in the region.
In addition to the Ujjain plant, officials will announce a suite of related projects covering dairy infrastructure, animal husbandry support schemes and the development of rural road links that facilitate market access for goat and cattle farmers.
The announcements aim to strengthen the dairy value chain, improve farmer incomes and align with broader national objectives of increasing milk production and rural employment.
Stakeholders anticipate that the combined impact of these initiatives will enhance the livelihoods of the thousands of goat herders present and set a template for similar interventions in other states.
