Union Home Minister Amit Shah visited the family of deceased Vikramjit Singh in Gurdaspur, touching his mother's feet and assuring them of a CBI investigation and job support.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived in Punjab on Tuesday for a scheduled visit. As part of his itinerary, he paid a visit to the village of Madi Pannwan in Gurdaspur district to meet the family of Vikramjit Singh, who passed away after raising his voice against drug abuse in the region.

During the meeting, Amit Shah showed deep respect to the bereaved family by touching the feet of Vikramjit Singh's mother. The gesture was intended to provide emotional support and reassurance to the family members during their time of grief.

Addressing the concerns of the family, the Home Minister conveyed that a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe would be conducted into the matter. This move signals a high-level interest in ensuring a transparent and impartial investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Furthermore, Amit Shah provided assurance regarding the future of the family, specifically promising support for their employment needs. The visit highlights the central government's engagement with local issues in Punjab, particularly those related to the ongoing drug crisis and the safety of those who speak out against it.
