Amazon Prime Video will be the sole platform worldwide to stream the Emmy Awards, marking a shift to exclusive digital broadcasting.
Amazon Prime Video announced that it will become the exclusive global home for the Emmy Awards, meaning the ceremony will be streamed worldwide solely on its platform.
The deal, confirmed by Amazon, follows a trend of streaming services acquiring major live event rights and replaces the previous arrangement where the Emmys were broadcast on traditional television networks.
Viewers in India and other markets will be able to watch the ceremony live via Prime Video’s subscription service, with no additional pay‑per‑view fees reported. The move is expected to boost Prime Video’s subscriber base and strengthen its position in the competitive streaming market.
Industry analysts note that exclusive streaming of high‑profile award shows could reshape how audiences access premium content, especially as advertisers explore digital formats.
