Alleged Irregularities Spark Scrutiny of MNCA Cricket Selection Process

The Manipur Cricket Association (MNCA) is under scrutiny after allegations surfaced that its selection process for state teams was irregular. The claims were reported by the Imphal Times and were raised by a group of former players and coaches who say the criteria were not transparent and that certain players were favored.

So far the MNCA has not issued an official statement addressing the accusations. The state cricket board has indicated that it will review the matter and may launch an independent inquiry to ensure fairness in the selection of players.

The controversy has sparked concerns among stakeholders about the integrity of cricket development in Manipur and the need for clear, merit‑based selection procedures.
