Akhil Gogoi Blasts Former Ally After Nagaon Election Loss

The recent Assam assembly elections saw the Congress party lose the Nagaon constituency, a seat that had been a key battleground for the party. In the aftermath, Akhil Gogoi, a senior Congress leader, took to social media and local press to denounce a former ally for allegedly abandoning the party’s minority base. Gogoi’s comments came as a surprise, highlighting growing discontent within the party ranks over the handling of minority outreach. The incident raises questions about the future cohesion of Congress in Assam, especially as it seeks to regain lost ground in upcoming elections.
