The Airports Authority of India and the West Bengal government signed a Memorandum of Understanding to develop a new airport at Purulia and revitalize the existing Balurghat airport, aiming to boost regional connectivity.

On a recent day, officials from the Airports Authority of India (AAI) and the West Bengal government met to sign a Memorandum of Understanding.

The agreement aims to develop a new airport at Purulia and revitalize the existing Balurghat airport, both located in West Bengal.

The project is expected to enhance regional connectivity and support economic growth in the northern districts of the state.

Following the signing, AAI will conduct feasibility studies and coordinate with state authorities on land acquisition and infrastructure planning.
