The second phase of Bundi’s 2026 municipal elections saw an 81.75% turnout across 104 wards, with Kapren ward reporting the highest voter participation.
The Election Commission of India conducted the second phase of the 2026 municipal elections in Bundi district, covering the towns of Hindoli, Nainwan, Kapren and Lakheri. A total of 104 wards went to the polls, and the overall voter turnout reached 81.75%, indicating strong public engagement in local governance.
Among the four municipalities, Kapren recorded the highest participation rate, outpacing the other towns. The high turnout in Kapren reflects heightened voter interest, possibly driven by local issues and the competitive nature of the contests.
A total of 356 candidates contested the elections across the 104 wards. All votes were cast using electronic voting machines (EVMs), and the results will be declared after the counting process, which is scheduled to begin shortly.
The commission has urged all parties to respect the democratic process and maintain peace as the final results are tabulated. The outcomes will determine the composition of municipal councils that will govern local development for the next five years.
