An ODI played in Guwahati produced a combined 800 runs, leading analysts to question the suitability of the pitch.
The one‑day international match held in Guwahati, Assam, saw an extraordinary combined total of 800 runs scored by both sides. Such a high aggregate has drawn immediate attention from cricket commentators and fans alike.
Experts argue that the run‑heavy encounter suggests the surface may have offered excessive assistance to batsmen, raising concerns about the balance between bat and ball.
The Assam Tribune highlighted the issue, stating that a good pitch should provide a fair contest and that the current conditions may warrant review by the BCCI and local ground authorities.
No injuries or on‑field incidents were reported, and the match concluded without controversy beyond the ongoing pitch discussion.
