Kilauea volcano in Hawaii erupted, sending lava fountains up to 720 feet into the night sky.
Kilauea volcano on the Big Island of Hawaii began erupting late in the evening, producing spectacular lava fountains that rose as high as 720 feet. The eruption was observed across the island, with the molten streams shooting into the dark sky.
The towering plumes of incandescent lava lit up the night, creating a vivid display that could be seen from nearby communities and captured on video by residents and tourists alike.
Local authorities and the United States Geological Survey have been monitoring the activity closely, issuing safety advisories for the surrounding areas while confirming that no immediate threats to life have been reported.
Scientists note that such high lava fountains are characteristic of Kilauea's recent eruptive phases and provide valuable data on the volcano's behavior.
The event underscores Hawaii's ongoing volcanic activity, reminding both locals and visitors of the dynamic natural forces at work on the islands.
