A 7-foot-long snake was discovered hiding inside a washing machine at a home in Madhya Pradesh, prompting local authorities to intervene.
A resident of a Madhya Pradesh village reported an unusual sight when a 7-foot-long snake was found coiled inside the family’s washing machine. The discovery was made while the household was loading laundry, causing panic among the members.
The family immediately contacted the local police, who in turn called the forest department’s wildlife officials. Trained personnel arrived at the scene, safely extracted the reptile and relocated it to a nearby forested area, ensuring no harm to the animal or the residents.
No injuries were reported, and the washing machine was inspected for damage before being cleared for use. Wildlife experts noted that snakes occasionally seek shelter in human dwellings during the monsoon season, especially when prey such as rodents are abundant.
Authorities advised locals to keep doors and windows sealed and to maintain cleanliness around homes to reduce the likelihood of such encounters. The incident underscores the need for prompt reporting and professional handling of wildlife intrusions in residential areas.
