The new 67-kilometre expressway linking Delhi to Jaipur via Bandikui is now operational, offering a faster route for commuters and freight traffic.
The 67-kilometre Delhi‑Jaipur expressway, which runs through the town of Bandikui in Rajasthan, has been inaugurated for public use. Designed to cut travel time between the national capital and the Pink City, the four‑lane corridor promises smoother traffic flow and reduced congestion on the older NH-48 route.
Officials highlighted that the expressway features modern safety installations, including LED signage, emergency tele‑phone boxes, and well‑marked lane dividers. Service lanes and designated rest areas have been planned at regular intervals to cater to long‑distance drivers.
Transport operators anticipate a boost in freight efficiency, as the new route shortens the distance by several kilometres and eliminates bottlenecks at key junctions. The project is part of a broader push to improve connectivity across the National Capital Region and Rajasthan's tourism corridor.
Motorists are advised to adhere to speed limits, use the designated toll plazas, and follow the posted lane discipline to ensure safety. The expressway is expected to handle an estimated 15,000 vehicles per day during its initial months of operation.
The opening of this corridor aligns with the government's objective to upgrade national highways and promote regional economic growth, especially in the sectors of tourism, agriculture, and manufacturing.
