5 Intoxicated Youths Enter ICU, Accuse Doctor of Assault; Residents Protest

Five drunken men entered the ICU of Sanjay Gandhi Hospital in Rewa and accused a doctor of assault. Resident doctors staged a sit‑in protest until security measures were reinforced.
Five men, reportedly intoxicated, entered the intensive care unit of Sanjay Gandhi Hospital in Rewa late last night and confronted a senior physician, alleging that the doctor had struck them. The confrontation escalated when the men claimed the doctor had used physical force against them.
The accused youths were later taken into custody by hospital security and the local police. According to hospital officials, the doctor denied any wrongdoing and stated that the incident was a misunderstanding.
In response to the incident, about 50 resident doctors from the hospital gathered outside the ICU and began a sit‑in protest. They demanded that security protocols be strengthened and that the hospital management take action against the intruders.
Hospital administration announced that additional security personnel would be posted at all entry points and that a review of the ICU’s access policy would be conducted. The resident doctors agreed to resume duties once the new security arrangements were in place.
