A group of 49 Sikh pilgrims traveled from Pakistan and reached Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport, where the Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee organized their reception.
A convoy of 49 Sikh devotees arrived in India from Pakistan on Tuesday, landing at Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi. The pilgrims, traveling for religious purposes, were met by officials of the Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee (SGMC) as soon as they disembarked.
The SGMC staff arranged a warm reception at the arrivals hall, providing water, refreshments and guidance on onward travel to various gurdwaras in the capital. Representatives of the committee also briefed the group on the protocols for visiting holy sites in India.
The arrival underscores the continued religious ties between the Sikh communities of the two neighboring countries, despite broader diplomatic tensions. Both governments have facilitated the pilgrimage under existing visa arrangements, allowing devotees to fulfill their spiritual obligations.
No incidents were reported during the landing, and the pilgrims are expected to spend a few days in Delhi before proceeding to other destinations in northern India.
