A joint raid by Rajasthan's food safety officials and a central team from Jaipur confiscated 28 tonnes of contaminated flour in Bikaner and destroyed over 400 kg of mold‑infested khoya and other spoiled food products.

Bikaner, Rajasthan – In a coordinated operation involving the state food‑safety department and a central enforcement team from Jaipur, officials seized approximately 28,000 kilograms of flour that failed safety standards. The batch was found to be contaminated and posed a serious risk to public health if distributed.

Alongside the flour, the raid uncovered 400 kilograms of khoya (mava) heavily infested with mold, as well as spoiled dry fruits, deteriorated gulab jamun and other perishable items. All compromised products were immediately destroyed on site to prevent any chance of them entering the market.

The action forms part of a broader crackdown on sub‑standard food items in Rajasthan, aimed at safeguarding consumers and curbing the circulation of unsafe commodities. Authorities have urged traders to adhere strictly to quality norms and warned of stringent penalties for violations.

Food‑safety officials emphasized that such seizures are essential to maintain public confidence in the food supply chain, especially ahead of upcoming festive seasons when demand for sweets and bakery products spikes.

The seized flour and destroyed items will be documented and handed over to the appropriate regulatory bodies for further investigation and possible legal action against the suppliers involved.
