A 251‑member Sikh jatha in Amritsar submitted a memorandum to the Akal Takht Sahib, urging a fair investigation into the Chavla case.

Amritsar – A Sikh jatha comprising 251 members formally presented a memorandum to the Akal Takht Sahib on Thursday, demanding an unbiased inquiry into the Chavla case. The document, signed by all members, asserts that the ongoing investigation has shown signs of bias and calls for a transparent process that respects Sikh community concerns.

The jatha’s spokesperson said the memorandum outlines specific grievances, including perceived delays and alleged procedural lapses by law‑enforcement agencies. They urged the Akal Takht, the highest temporal authority of Sikhism, to intervene and ensure that the case is examined without prejudice.

Akal Takht officials have not yet issued a public response, but the submission underscores growing pressure from religious groups for accountability in high‑profile criminal investigations. The Chavla case, which has attracted national attention, remains under police scrutiny.

The jatha plans to monitor the Akal Takht’s reaction closely and has indicated that further actions may be taken if their demands are not addressed promptly.
