Around 250 students of the Government Dhanvantari Ayurvedic College in Ujjain have launched a protest demanding parity in the stipends paid to them. The students contend that the current stipend structure creates a disparity compared with peers in other institutions, and they are seeking uniform remuneration.
To press their demand, the students have undertaken a hunger strike and organized a Sadbuddhi Yagya, a ritual intended to invoke collective wisdom and resolve. In addition, they have arranged a blood‑donation camp, encouraging participants and supporters to contribute blood as a symbolic act of solidarity.
The protest remains peaceful, with the students continuing their strike and ritual activities while awaiting a response from the college administration. No official statement from the authorities has been reported as of now.
