A 17‑year‑old girl from Pakistan‑occupied Jammu & Kashmir was apprehended by Indian security forces after she crossed the Line of Control into Indian‑administered Jammu & Kashmir, officials said.

Security forces in Jammu & Kashmir detained a teenage girl from the Pakistan‑occupied side after she illegally crossed the Line of Control (LoC). The girl, identified as 17 years old, was intercepted near the border area and taken into custody for violating the cross‑border movement regulations.

Local authorities confirmed that the girl was escorted to a police station where her identity and the circumstances of her crossing were recorded. She is being held pending further investigation and possible repatriation to the PoJK side, in accordance with existing protocols for cross‑border incidents.

The incident underscores the heightened vigilance along the LoC, where both sides regularly monitor unauthorized movements. No injuries or additional arrests were reported, and officials have not disclosed any broader security implications arising from the case.

The girl’s family has been notified, and diplomatic channels may be engaged to resolve the matter in line with the 2003 LoC Agreement, which governs civilian crossings and detentions across the contested boundary.
