15 Rajasthan RAS Officers Approved for IAS Promotion, Awaiting Centre's Nod

The UPSC selection committee has cleared 15 names for IAS cadre promotion from Rajasthan's RAS, and the state has forwarded the list to the central government for final approval.
The Rajasthan Administrative Service (RAS) now has a clear pathway for fifteen of its officers to be promoted to the Indian Administrative Service (IAS). The move follows a recommendation by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) after it examined the vacant positions in the IAS cadre.
The UPSC selection committee reviewed eighteen vacant posts and gave its approval to fifteen candidates, indicating that these officers meet the criteria for elevation to the IAS. The names were vetted as part of the regular promotion exercise for state civil servants.
Following the UPSC nod, the Rajasthan state government has submitted the approved list to the central government, seeking the final endorsement required for the promotions to take effect. Until the centre grants its approval, the officers remain in the RAS cadre.
If the central approval is granted, the fifteen officers will join the IAS, strengthening the state's representation in the premier civil service and potentially influencing administrative decisions at both state and national levels.
